"Teacher Librarians are firstly teachers that after teaching for at least four years, do a Teacher Librarian master’s degree. This enables us to intimately understand the role of the teacher and bring specialist skills to enhance teaching and learning. I first qualified as a Food Technology, Textiles Technology and English teacher. I filled this role for 24yrs, teaching in Queensland, New Zealand and New South Wales. I then took a break from teaching to do two master’s degrees one in Teaching English as a Second Language and the other as a Teacher Librarian. The role of the Teacher Librarian is that of a supporting and resourcing teacher. The only thing I love more than seeing students achieve is inspiring them to enjoy a good book."
